The Abo Rugia Agricultural Project spans 33,501 feddans in one parcel near Sidon, around 130 km east of Atbara and approximately 2 km from the Atbara River.

Project Overview

The site is the first project on the route from Khartoum toward Sidon, with Shababeek bridge passing through the project area.

Water and Energy

River-connected water and energy systems support the agricultural development.

• 12-inch and 10-inch water lines
• HDPE pipes from the Atbara River and connections across approximately 700 feddans
• Solar energy, one 320 KVA generator, two 90 kW pumps, and two 55 kW pumps

Machinery

The fleet includes New Holland tractors and supporting agricultural implements.

• Two 90 HP tractors
• One each at 125 HP, 150 HP, and 180 HP
• Plough, onion planter, booms, cultivator, planters, spreader, excavator, harrow, and laser units
